This painting is part of a new series of waves studies. I have always been fascinated by the ocean and it took me ten years to decide to paint waves. All the paintings from this series are painted Alla Prima (in one session). This is the best way to keep the authenticity of the first brushstrokes. There is a lot of transparency. The background color is crucial and is as important as the colors surrounding it. The layers are very thin and this accentuates the movement and texture of the water.

The painting is signed "MARTIN". The painting is sold unframed.
